On Friday, September 27^th, the GUARDEN HUA team participated in the European Researchers’ Night Event at the National Technical University of Athens. This year, the initiative took place in different cities across 23 European Member State countries. The event was hosted under the themes of climate crises, citizen engagement and innovation, green and blue digital transition, sustainability, health, and human well-being.

The event targets the general public, especially schools from first and secondary education, regardless of their scientific background, in an attempt to promote science, research and technology.

Harokopio University of Athens (HUA) participated with the GUARDEN project poster, showcasing the research done and introducing visitors to the  project’s four case studies. The public was particularly interested in both the use of GUARDEN tools, such as the Pl@ntNet app, and also the understanding of biodiversity-development trade-offs approached through the mapping of ecosystem services as a means to better inform decision-making.
